Welcome in, Belle! We understand that a family rescued Belle from a puppy mill in Illinois a couple months ago. The family has struggled with her training and socialization and felt it would be in her best interest to be in our care. We are very experienced with puppy mill behaviors and needs and feel confident we can help her and get her ready for her furever home. Today she traveled down to Birmingham, Alabama where she will undergo her intake vetting tomorrow. Unless she needs to stay in Birmingham for medical purposes, she will head over to Georgia for foster care. We’re hoping for a good report at the vet tomorrow 💜Meet Belle 💕
While we were not provided her date of birth or any medical records, we were told she was around 3-4 years old. This was in line with our findings at her intake vetting yesterday, and so we have her listed at 3.5 years old. She got an excellent report with clear eyes (and normal tear test), ears, skin, hips, and knees, and just a very mild, barely there heart murmur, typically for adult Cavaliers. Her heartworm and tick borne illness test was negative, as was her fecal test, and her urinalysis and all her bloodwork was normal and negative.
She underwent her spay surgery and a dental cleaning (no extractions) where she did very well. she had been transported over to Georgia and has settled into her foster home in Alpharetta where we will begin to learn all about her... and will be sure to share updates 💜
Update January 6, 2020:
Beautiful 3.5 year old Belle has settled in wonderfully into her foster home in Alpharetta, Georgia. Thankfully this sweet girl has no health issues to overcome and has healed completely from her spay surgery and dental cleaning.
Her foster mom reports that she is active, fun, and playful, with equal parts loving, adorable and cuddly 💜 What a pawfect combo 👌🏻 We will be working with her foster family time her her listed for adoption in the coming weeks.
