Precious Dalnim was found in the streets in South Korea back in June 2020 and has been in shelters and rescues there waiting for an adopting family all this time 💔 We have been told that it is not as prevalent there for families to consider adoption when adding a pet to their family and so Dalnim, like so many others, ran out of time waiting for someone to bring him home. We are so thankful for his rescuers and advocates there who wanted to give him a better opportunity and entrusted us with his care. Earlier this month, Dalnim made the long trek from Seoul, South Korea to our team in Southern California and yesterday he underwent his full intake vetting at Bressi Ranch Pet Hospital.
We are happy to share that Dalnim received an overall fantastic report! We don’t have an exact age on Dalnim since he was found stray, but his rescuers in South Korea estimated him at about 8 years old which we agree with. He came to us already up to date on vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, and on monthly preventatives. We ran full labwork including a fecal test, heartworm and tick borne illness test, urinalysis, and bloodwork which all came back perfect, normal, and negative 👏🏼
19 pound Dalnim’s physical exam also checked out nearly perfect except for his heart murmur which is sadly to be expected for an older adult Cavalier and which we had already been made aware of before his journey over. His medical team in South Korea had started him on heart medications after they detected some left atrium enlargement due to mitral valve disease (MVD). We have continued those medications and are working on getting him in with our cardiologist so he can get a full cardiac evaluation done and alter any medications if need be. After his cardiac evaluation, he will then undergo a dental cleaning.
