We recently welcomed in precious, sweet Harry after his owner could no longer care for him due to dementia 💔 14.5 year old Harry (DOB 12/1/2006) just underwent his intake vetting at Ellisville Veterinary Hospital and it’s obvious Harry has been well loved and well taken care of 💕 He is a unicorn in the Cavalier world in that he is still congenitally sound with clear eyes, knees, hips, and heart at 14.5 years old! Additionally all of his labwork including his bloodwork, urinalysis, fecal test, heartworm and tick borne illness test was normal and negative. He is already up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped.
Other than treating just a mild ear infection, he is a healthy guy with just some normal aging changes. We have started him on a daily joint supplement to help support his aging joints. He is underweight which we understand may be due to recent inconsistent feedings due to health of his owner, but he is eating very well with us and getting plenty of good groceries!
Sweet Harry is getting settled in to his foster home in Wentzville, Missouri and we will be sure to continue to bring you pupdates on our little unicorn 🦄💜

UPDATE DECEMBER 1, 2022 

When we welcomed 14.5 year old Harry into rescue after his owner could no longer care for him due to dementia it was a heartbreaking situation for all involved, especially Harry whose whole world was rocked at such a tender, fragile age 💔 At that time we did not feel it was in his best interest to be uprooted again, and decided, due to age, that he would live the rest of his life in his furever foster home as part of our Hospice Program where we would continue to provide for his care and meet his every need.
That was then, and this is now….

UPDATE JANUARY 5, 2023: 

Thank you to everyone who made our hospice dogs’ Christmas wishes come true ✨ Sweet SIXTEEN year old Harry in Wentzville, Missouri
asked for a new orthopedic bed 💤 which he received from an anonymous gifter 🎁 Thank you ❤️
He’s putting his new bed to good use as he is resting and recovering from a procedure that he underwent yesterday after an oral growth popped up quickly. Thankfully our vet was able to excise it using just light sedation since we did not want our super senior under anesthesia. His furever foster mom reports he is recovering very well and back to his usual self today ❤️‍🩹 Pretty impressive for an old man! We sent the growth off for testing and we should get those results back by the end of next week.
