Sweet 6 year old Kaylee into our care has been a breeding dog all of her life and her breeder released to us when she stopped producing well. She has a very poor coat, as you can see in the photo, due to environmental factors - fleas, filth, poor nutrition, lack of care, etc. Now that she is eating a high quality food and getting lots of TLC, it will grow in beautifully. Kaylee is typical in size at 15 pounds.
We brought Kaylee up to date on vaccinations, ran labwork, and gave her a good once over. All her labwork (urinalysis, fecal test, heartworm and tick borne illness test, and bloodwork) came back normal and negative. Her physical exam revealed that she is congenitally sound at this time with clear eyes, hips, knees, and heart. She did have a cyst on her right eyelid which was rubbing and irritating her eye so when she was under for her spay and dental cleaning, we snipped that off and she is on antibiotic eye drops.
Kaylee is now resting and recovering from her surgery in her foster home in Birmingham, Alabama. We look forward to learning more about her cute personality and needs 💜
