New intake Oscar underwent his intake vetting. Oscar is a 4.5 year old, 21 pound hunk of love 😍 who was released to us by his family. Intake vetting revealed that he is suffering with ear infections, an abrasion on his scrotum, nasal hyperkeratosis, and a nasty little parasite called giardia. We have started him on treatment for all the above.
His heartworm and tick borne illness test was negative and his bloodwork and urinalysis were normal. His eyes and hips are congenitally sound at this time although a mildly loose right knee (grade 1), and mild, asymptomatic heart murmur (grade 1), likely from the onset of mitral valve disease, was detected.
Precious Oscar is scheduled to undergo his neuter surgery, dental cleaning, and microchip implant next week and then will have his ears and fecal rechecked soon after. His foster mom reports that he is the king of chill ✌🏻 and is a mellow, mild sweetheart 💜 Oscar is being fostered in Pleasanton, California.
