On Wednesday, 12/21, when we were all preparing and bracing for the big freeze to hit here in Alabama, sweet Sicily, who was a breeding dog at a kennel, gave birth to eight puppies. Between the large litter size, Sicily’s lack of milk, and environmental concerns about adequate housing with the impending weather, One puppy had already passed away and we were asked to intervene.

🛑 The puppies are not yet available for adoption so we ask that you please refrain from contacting us with your interest at this time. The puppies will undergo their first heath check mid-February and if deemed healthy will be listed for adoption soon after which is when we will ask for your applications and interest. Thanks for understanding!

SICILY’S LITTER 🍼 Pup 1 of 7
The only tricolor of the bunch, meet HOLSTEIN 🐄! This sweet boy weighed in at 12.7 oz today (at 1 week old) and has been a hearty boy from the get go with a strong suckle. For those of you that are tricolor enthusiasts, that shouldn’t surprise you! 😉

SICILY’S LITTER 🍼 Pup 2 of 7
There are 2 blenheims in the bunch and they are easy to tell apart by the size of their bellies! Meet CHAPEL, also known as Chubby Chapel! She has no problem draining the entire bottle 🍼 and is weighing in at 13.7 ounces at one week old.

SICILY’S LITTER 🍼 Pup 3 of 7
The only Black & Tan of the group and the heaviest pup at this time, weighing in at 15 ounces at 1 week old, meet MOXIE! She actually came in as one of the smaller pups and has eaten her way to the other side - true to her name, she sucks her bottle with all her might that the sides of the bottle often collapse in!

SICILY’S LITTER 🍼 Pup 4 of 7
Meet CORA - One of the 3 rubies in the bunch and can be spotted as she’s lighter in color than her ruby sister, but darker in color than her ruby brother. Cora is knows as the cuddler - she is never by herself and always gets herself right in the middle of the cuddle puddle! At one week old, cute cuddly Cora weighed in at 12.7 ounces.

SICILY’S LITTER 🍼 Pup 5 of 7
The ‘runt’ of the litter, wee little blenheim FERDINAND gave us quite a scare when he first arrived. Obviously far underdeveloped compared to the others, we weren’t sure he was going to be able to pull through. But with lots of love and care, we are happy to report that he is now thriving! Only being 11 days old, we are certainly not out of the woods yet, but we are reassured by his progress and gains everyday 🙏🏻 At 1 week old, Ferdinand weighed in at 8.6 ounces. He’s getting lots of special attention and loves being wrapped up tight and kissed 💕

SICILY’S LITTER 🍼 Pup 6 of 7
The lightest in color of the 3 rubies and with a white blaze to match his mom’s 💕, meet ANGUS! Angus was the biggest of the pups at birth but at 1 week old, Chapel, Nora, and Moxie have now caught up or surpassed him in weight. Angus is described as an angel, a gentle giant, and the most mellow of the group!
The pups turn 2 weeks old tomorrow and we will be posted a litter update with updated weights 💜

UPDATE JANUARY 3, 2023:
Sicily's Seven are now two weeks old! We can see signs of their little eyes trying to open. Is this not the most perfect "puppy pile" ever ?!!??

SICILY’S LITTER 🍼 Pup 7 of 7
If there’s noise coming from the puppy pile, it’s most likely this little girl - meet noisy NORA! Not to be confused with his twin sister, cuddly Cora, noisy Nora is the darkest of the rubies. She loves to be held and kissed and is never afraid to ask for attention!

UPDATE JANUARY 11, 2023:
The "Spectacular Seven" are now 3 weeks old and continuing to all thrive 🙌🏼 Holstein (tri) gave us a bit of a scare earlier this week but he seems to have turned a corner and back on track 🙏🏻 Mama Sicily is doing great too 💕 Stay tuned for continued pupdates 💜

UPDATE JANUARY 18, 2023: Happy 4 weeks old to Sicily’s Spectacular Seven 💕 Moxie, Nora, Chapel, Angus, Holstein, Ferdinand, & Cora! You babies are sooooo loved 💜

Thank you to our talented volunteer, April, for this adorable photo and more to come 📸

Could cuddly Cora be any cuter?! 🥰 She’s just under 2 pounds at 1lb. 14oz.

The Girls: (L to R) Moxie, Chapel, Cora, Nora

The Boys: (L to R) Ferdinand, Angus, Holstein

Chubby Chapel has now eaten her way to 2lbs. 4oz., making her the biggest of the pups, but we think she holds most of her weight in those marshmallow cheekies 💕

Go ahead and swoooooon over precious Mr. Angus, our gentle giant, who now weighs 2lbs. 2oz. 💕

Look at Miss Moxie, our little beauty queen 👑 weighing in at 1lb. 13oz.

Sweet Ferdinand who in the early days we were praying that he could reach this milestone. He was the runt of the litter and was significantly behind everyone developmentally but is certainly now caught up and weighing a big, strong 1lb. 13oz. 💪🏼

Who wants to rub our little baby cow’s belly?! This time last week, Holstein weighed the least of the litter at 1lb. 10oz., but he’s had a big week and weighed 2lbs. 3oz. today 💕

How adorable is precious Nora with her multi-color fur coat! Nora hasn’t missed a meal and weighs in just under chunky Chapel at 2lbs. 2oz. 💕
