Knee Repair scheduled for May 15
Adoption donation: TBA
Meet Archie! Archie, is a darling 9 month old boy (DOB 8/2/2022) who came into our care due to a leg injury he recently sustained. It was not improving on its own and his former family was not able to get him the help he needed, so they made the decision to release him into our care. Archie is being fostered in Pleasanton, California π
Today, Archie will be meeting with a specialist for further evaluation of his knee. We are unsure if this is just an acute injury that needs to some time, medication, and rest to calm down, or if this is something that will require surgical repair. But we are prepared and committed to doing whatever needs to be done to get sweet Archie back to fully enjoying puppyhood! We will share more when we know more π
UPDATE MAY 5, 2023: Handsome 9 month old Archie (DOB 8/2/2022) in Pleasanton, California has now finished his full intake vetting. He came to us already up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped, but we gave him a thorough physical exam and have sent off full labwork that we should have results back on Monday.
Besides his left knee, which is the reason he came into rescue, we are pleased to report that Archie received a perfect exam β His eyes, right knee, hip, and heart are all clear and congenitally sound, and his skin, ears, teeth are all clear and clean. Heβs a gorgeous, healthy pup! π

We understand that Archie suffered a back leg injury in his former home last month and as a result has an unstable patella and a significant limp that has not improved on its own. We are exploring patella stabilization surgery options for him now. In the meantime, we are starting him on a joint supplement and an anti-inflammatory to see if we canβt get it calmed down a bit and more comfortable for this sweet boy.
