MEET BOONE 💙
Last week we sprung precious Boone out of a north Alabama shelter where he had been since July 1 after being confiscated and held as evidence in a puppy mill cruelty case 💔 We were told that Boone is about 3 years old and his fur has recently been cut short. He’s typical in size and at his ideal weight of 16.8 pounds.
Boone has since undergone his full intake vetting. We found his eyes, knees, hips, and heart to be clear and congenitally sound at this time. His ear cytology revealed ear mites which he is currently being treated for. His heartworm and tick borne illness test was negative, and his bloodwork and urinalysis was normal. His fecal test was positive for roundworms which is now receiving treatment for. Yesterday, he underwent his neuter surgery and dental cleaning which resulted in losing just one bad tooth. All went well and he is resting and recovering in his foster home. He will return back to the vet in 2 weeks to recheck his ears and fecal test and ensure he’s all healed up from his surgery.
In the meantime Boone is settling into home and family life after enduring puppy mill life and a long shelter stay. We think he’s going to love it! Boone is being fostered in Spring Hill, Tennessee .
UPDATE NOVEMBER 19,2025: After a 4 month shelter stay, we know this comfy and quiet must feel so nice to precious Boone 💙 He’s 1 week post op from his neuter and dental and recovering well. He has also completed treatment for roundworms and ear mites, and will turn to the vet next week to ensure his fecal and ears are now clear and that he’s all healed up. We will be sure to let you know 🐾 Boone is being fostered in Spring Hill, Tennessee.
