700 miles ⛽️12 hours ⏰ 6 drivers 🚘 2 Cavaliers 🐢🐢1 mission 🫢🏼 On Friday, July 25th, we were contacted by a shelter in Bristol, Indiana about two sweet Cavalier girls who needed to come into rescue. Local rescues were full so we said, β€œof course we will make it work!” πŸ˜… By mid day Saturday, a relay transport had been arranged and by Sunday morning, they were en route to Birmingham, Alabama! 🚘 A BIG thank you to the 6 drivers who spent hours on the road on their day off to help these sweeties get to where a happy furever awaits them! πŸ’œWelcome, Sophia & Charlotte! They appear to have been likely breeder dumps so their history is a mystery πŸ” They are at the vet this afternoon for their full intake vetting and we will be sure to post a full medical pupdate when all of their labwork results are in βœ”οΈ In the meantime, they’re unwinding from their long travel day and settling well into their foster homes in Birmingham, Alabama πŸ’•

UPDATE SEPTEMBER 3, 2025:It’s been 3 weeks since little miss priss Charlotte in Birmingham, Alabama under went successful cataract removal surgery and she has thankfully had an easy, uneventful recovery πŸ™ŒπŸΌ She has been on lots of eye drops around the clock to help prevent post op infection, control inflammation, and manage intraocular pressures and will return to the her ophthalmologist again in 2 weeks to further reduce these medications. She is seeing beautifully as evident by her ability to spot every single squirrel 🐿️ and bird 🐦 nearby… and makes sure to alert the whole neighborhood too! When she’s not on yard pawtrol 🐾 , she snuggled up comfy and cozy on her favorite chair or cuddled up with her Cavalier foster siblings πŸ’•
