You never know where The Cavalier Rescue will pop up 🌎 Welcome in Claire, being fostered in Sioux Falls, South Dakota 💜
Precious 4 year old Claire needed rescue out of a puppy mill and while we have not been active in South Dakota before, we had to help her! Thankfully an amazing volunteer stepped up to welcome her into foster care and made it all possible 🙏🏻 Claire has now undergone her full intake vetting and we will be sharing a full medical update with you soon.

UPDATE MAY 19, 2025: We recently introduced you to precious 4 year old Claire who we rescued out of a puppy mill. She is being fostered in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and has undergone her full intake vetting…Sweet 12 pound Claire arrived underweight, filthy, stained, and with fleas, and ear infections. She unfortunately had been spayed by a third party before rescue and that incision was infected. Her bloodwork showed anemia and an elevated white blood count due to the infections and fleas. She has been de-flead and is being treated with oral antibiotics and ear medication.  Thankfully her fecal test, heartworm and tick borne illness test, urinalysis, and the rest of her bloodwork was normal and negative. We also found her eyes, knees, hips, and heart to be clear and congenitally sound at this time. When she is healthy, she will undergo a dental cleaning. Claire is responding beautifully to her new and improved way of life! Her foster mom reports that she is sweet, smart, and so easy to love! We love hearing that she is enjoying play and chase with her Cavalier foster sister 💜
