Welcome in, Jake! Darling 8 year old Jake (DOB 4/15/2016) comes to us as a breeder release after being retired from breeding. He arrived a matted mess and we tried to save as much fur as possible - so he’s got a bit of a silly cut ✂️ that turns out to match his goofy personality 💜
Yesterday, he underwent his full intake vetting and we are awaiting labwork results. Once those are in, we will share his full medical update. He’s a little guy at 12 pounds, but is full of love and ready to embrace this new way of life 💕 Jake is being fostered in Hoover, Alabama 🏡

 UPDATE SEPTEMBER 28, 2024  Last week we introduced you to darling Jake, an 8 year old (DOB 4/15/2016) breeder retiree/release. Jake has undergone his full intake vetting where we found him to be congenitally sound with clear, eyes, knees, hips, and heart 🙌🏼   He’s just a little thing at 12 pounds but also a bit underweight and lacking muscle tone, likely from life in confinement with little to no opportunity for activity and exercise. He teated negative for heartworms, but positive for giardia, an intenstinal parasite that runs rampant in filthy puppy mills and is receiving treatment.
Jake’s normal bloodwork cleared him for his much needed neuter and dental where he lost most of his remaining teeth which were basically being held in by plaque and which he doesn’t miss a bit. He will return to the vet in a week to ensure he’s all healed up from his procedures and to recheck his fecal following completion of his giardia treatment. 
In the meantime, he’s made himself at home in his foster home in Hoover, Alabama 🏡 His foster mom reports that his sweet, silly, and fun loving personality is already starting to show! 💜
