What a difference a week can make! ✨ Welcome in, sweet Marla 🩷Marla is one of the nine Cavaliers we were able to rescue off the auction block and out of the puppy mill industry - intercepting a future that would have been spent as a breeding dog, enduring a lifetime of reproductive abuse, neglect, and suffering.This darling girl is 6 months old (DOB 10/12/2025) and weighs 8 pounds. When we met Marla at auction, her eye was covered with green discharge - indicating an infection. After just one week of antibiotic drops, we’re so happy to share that it’s already clearing beautifully. She is also being treated for giardia, a nasty parasite that runs rampant in filthy puppy mill environments. Otherwise, her knees, hips, and heart were found to be clear and congenitally sound at this time.Marla is being fostered in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she’s beginning to learn what this new life is all about out - with the help of her Cavalier foster siblings, rescue alums Bea, Nellie, and Goose 🐾 (Marla is brand new to rescue and not yet available for adoption.
