Marlow

Hoover, Alabama
Female Age: 5 (DOB 3/26/2020) #12 Health; Ortho and Ophthalmology Evaluations pending Adoption Donation: $ TBA
Welcome in Marlow! Marlow has spent the past week sitting in a Georgia shelter waiting for her owner to come get her after she was picked up as a ‘stray’ with no identification. They didn’t come. Because we have no records or history on her, we don’t know how old she is or if she has any medical needs but we’ve taken her straight to our vet so we can learn more about her and ensure any need is known and met. We will share a medical update when all her labwork results are in. Marlow is located in Hoover, Alabama 💜
UPDATE APRIL 1, 2025: A few days ago we introduced you to sweet Marlow who came to us after being found stray without identification and was not reclaimed. She visited with our vet in Atlanta, Georgia to undergo her full intake vetting so we could begin to learn more about her and her needs….Because we don’t have any records, history, or information on her, our best guess is that she is around 5 years old and she’s small in size at her ideal weight of 12.6 pounds. Her spay status is not clear and so we have sent off hormone testing and awaiting those results. Her fur has obvious staining and her physical exam revealed several medical needs to address…She has ear mites and ear infections that we are now treating. She has dental disease and will need to undergo a dental cleaning. Her right eye is obviously cloudy but not picking up any stain. This may be an old injury/scarring or an inflammatory eye condition that needs current treatment. She has started eye drop medications and will be seeing our ophthalmologist for further evaluation. She also has a luxating patella (unstable knee) that will be evaluated by our orthopedic specialist. Otherwise, her fecal test, heartworm test, and tick borne illness test were negative, and her bloodwork and urinalysis were normal. Her heart is clear, without a murmur, at this time. Marlow has settled beautifully into rescue and is having fun and enjoying being in a loving foster home and family after being cooped up in a shelter for the past week. She is a friendly girl with a typical Cavalier temperament and has already showed us how much she loves toys by routinely clearing out the entire toy bin! 💕

UPDATE APRIL 24, 2025: Miss Marlow is ready to call it a day! Today she underwent her spay surgery and dental cleaning and is now back in foster home in Hoover, Alabama ready for some rest, recovery, and extra TLC ❤️‍🩹 You may remember that Marlow was found stray and sat unreclaimed in a shelter before being transferred into our care. We are also treating her for ear infections and corneal ulcerations. She will return to the vet in two weeks to ensure she’s all healed up from her surgery and to recheck her eyes and ears. We will be sure to keep you updated on how she’s doing 💜
