UPDATE AUGUST 27, 2023: Sure looks like our newest, Willow (blenheim in the middle), is making herself comfy, cozy, and right at home in her foster home in Liberty Hill, Texas 🏑 We are a foster home based rescue meaning that all of the dogs in our care are in loving, experienced, amazing foster homes and families until their perfect furever family is found πŸ’•Not only is this best for the dogs, but it allows us to fully assess them in a home and family environment which is imperative to learning and understanding what they need need and want to thrive best in their furever home and ensure a happy and successful adoption πŸ’œA huge shout out to all our fabulous foster families who open their hearts and homes to Cavaliers in need and serve as such an important bridge to a happy furever 🫢🏽
UPDATE SEPTEMBER 6, 2023: Precious almost 5 year old Willow (DOB 10/1/2018) in Liberty Hill, Texas recently underwent her full intake vetting. As pictured, she has a fairly large inguinal hernia that will be repaired at the time of her spay surgery which is scheduled for next week. We are also treating her for ear infections. Her eyes, knees, and hips were found to be clear and congenitally sound but a mild heart murmur was detected, likely due to the onset of mitral valve disease (MVD) which of course plagues the breed. As with all murmurs, we will recommend that her adopting family get her a baseline echocardiogram with a veterinary cardiologist. 24 pound Willow is already up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and we’ve started her on monthly preventatives. All of her labwork including her fecal test, heartworm and tick borne illness test, urinalysis, and bloodwork was normal and negative. We will be sure to let you know that her surgery went well πŸ’œ
UPDATE SEPTEMBER 18, 2023: Sundays are for football 🏈 and snuggles πŸ’• with foster dad πŸ’œ Pretty Willow in Liberty Hill, Texas is recovering well from her spay surgery, umbilical hernia repair, and inguinal hernia repair that she underwent on Tuesday. She will return to the vet next Monday for suture removal and to ensure she’s all healed up β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή
