UPDATE SEPTEMBER 6, 2023: Precious almost 5 year old Willow (DOB 10/1/2018) in Liberty Hill, Texas recently underwent her full intake vetting. As pictured, she has a fairly large inguinal hernia that will be repaired at the time of her spay surgery which is scheduled for next week. We are also treating her for ear infections.
Her eyes, knees, and hips were found to be clear and congenitally sound but a mild heart murmur was detected, likely due to the onset of mitral valve disease (MVD) which of course plagues the breed. As with all murmurs, we will recommend that her adopting family get her a baseline echocardiogram with a veterinary cardiologist.
24 pound Willow is already up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and weβve started her on monthly preventatives. All of her labwork including her fecal test, heartworm and tick borne illness test, urinalysis, and bloodwork was normal and negative. We will be sure to let you know that her surgery went well π
UPDATE SEPTEMBER 18, 2023: Sundays are for football π and snuggles π with foster dad π
